Current software revision (2-4-97) is: PT# 16-6619-1D.
Corrected Day/Date not aligning and P.M. timer shutoff.
Chaparral does not support the Monterey 140 inside the United States.
We recommend that purchasers inside the United States return the
receiver to the distributor it was purchased from as it is not FCC
approved for use in the United States.
PROBLEM:
How do you master clear or erase all stored information in the
receivers database?
SOLUTION:
You should not re-initialize (master clear) the receiver unless
you have a memory card or have a valid file to transfer from a computer.
Current databases are available
through our web site or from your equipment provider. Place the
receiver in the standby mode. (Standby light on the front panel
must be lit.) Press and hold the channel up and down keys on the
front panel. While holding the channel keys, press and hold the
front panel power key. The receiver should turn back on. Release
all the keys. If you are viewing the main video output, you will
see the message "DB INIT". After the receiver is finished
with the re-init, turn it back on, check the clock and reload the
database.
PROBLEM:
The day does not match the selected date.
SOLUTION:
Update the software to version D or higher. For a temporary fix
change the year until the proper day is shown.
PROBLEM:
Timed events starting at 11:00PM and ending after midnight shut
off early or don't work at all.
SOLUTION:
Update the software to version D or higher.
PROBLEM:
No response from remote.
SOLUTION:
Rotate selector on back of remote trying each position to see
if wrong unit number is selected. Sometimes the unit number displayed
will not match the remote. Re-enter the unit number to save correctly.
PROBLEM:
Poor picture quality. During autotune dish picture gets better
but when the position is updated it gets bad again.
SOLUTION:
Most likely caused from the ITC (Infinite Threshold Control) being
set incorrectly. Change ITC setting to improve picture. Also check
that the Video Filter is set correctly in Menu 2.
PROBLEM:
Receiver keeps doing a database init every time its plugged in
to the AC or after a power outage.
SOLUTION:
The battery supplying voltage to the ram is below the operating
range. Replace the battery and reload memory from memory card.
PROBLEM:
Hardware Error keeps displaying on the receiver graphics.
SOLUTION:
The hardware error message can be caused from C31 being out of
tolerance. This is a 0.1 uF cap. and should be replaced. It is possible
that the cap may have been mis-stuffed or is missing. Using a scope
check Pin 6 on U66. This pin should have a negative 0.5 mil/sec.
